Ready for the Bush.

Whether you're clearing rats from a grain store on the Highveld or working the edges of a smallholding for hares and feral pigeons, you need a PCP that delivers the same point of impact on shot one as it does on shot forty. The FX DRS Walnut 5.5mm is that rifle.

What is the FX DRS?

The FX DRS (Dual Regulated System) is a Swedish-engineered PCP air rifle featuring a two-stage pressure regulation system. Where a single regulator controls the air delivered to the valve, the DRS adds a secondary regulation stage - the result is an exceptionally flat velocity curve across a long shot string. For the South African hunter or pest controller, this means your zero holds from the first shot to the last, without the velocity drop-off that plagues unregulated or single-regulated platforms.

The Walnut Difference

The walnut stock on the DRS isn't just aesthetic. Walnut is dimensionally stable in South Africa's variable climate - from the humid coastal bush of KwaZulu-Natal to the dry Karoo air - and it ages with character. It sits naturally in the shoulder, balances the rifle well, and gives the DRS a classic profile that stands apart from the polymer-stocked field.

5.5mm - The Right Calibre for South African Conditions

The 5.5mm (.22 calibre) is the workhorse of the PCP world for good reason. It carries enough energy to anchor a hare cleanly at practical field distances, cycles reliably through FX's rotary magazine system, and offers a wide selection of quality pellets available in South Africa. For pest control - rats in the feed room, feral pigeons on the roof, sparrows in the warehouse - the 5.5mm delivers decisive results without the over-penetration risk of larger calibres in confined spaces.

Side-Lever Action - Smooth and Silent

The side-lever cocking mechanism keeps your head down and your eye on the target. There's no need to break your cheek weld between shots, and the action cycles with the kind of mechanical smoothness you expect from a Swedish-built firearm. In a hide or against a wall waiting for a rat run, that silence and smoothness matters.

Integrated Shroud - Neighbour-Friendly Performance

The integrated barrel shroud reduces muzzle report significantly - a practical necessity for suburban pest control in South African residential areas where noise complaints are a real concern. You stay effective. Your neighbours stay happy.

Where the FX DRS Walnut Performs in South Africa

Suburban and smallholding pest control - rats, feral pigeons, sparrows, mynas

Small game hunting - hares and rabbits on open Highveld and Karoo terrain

Backyard precision training - consistent regulation makes it an excellent training platform

Field target and informal competition - the regulated shot string suits target disciplines

Junior shooter development - manageable recoil impulse and precise trigger for building fundamentals

Licence Requirements in South Africa

As a PCP air rifle producing energy levels associated with the FX DRS platform, buyers should confirm current SAPS licensing requirements with LT Air at point of sale.
